How do you keep a good work/life balance?
It’s hard, i’m always tempted to check my work emails outside of the office. With my blog ‘work’ it makes boundaries even more blurred. I think it’s important to build in little daily practices that are definitely not work each day so you’re not on the whole time. I meditate 1-2 times a day and do Pilates 5-6 times a week at home which are two things I love that keep me grounded.
What advice would you give to girls looking to get into your industry?
I work in influencer marketing which is a rapidly growing and changing industry. I always encourage people to quantify their experience on their CV - add numbers where you can as well as real examples. When it comes to interviews, believe in the fact that you are the best person for the role and make sure that comes across!
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Achievements are definitely fluid for me and changing often. With my Blog and Instagram, my biggest achievement so far was probably being featured as the first of Sheerluxe’s ‘Stylish Girls To Have On Your Radar’.
What is your motto?
My work laptop screensaver says ‘work like a boss’ so we’ll go with that!
What was your first job?
My first job was at Jack Wills over 10 years ago now (when it was very cool to work there!). I absolutely loved it and found all the immaculate clothes folding so therapustic!
What is a staple in your wardrobe you couldn’t live without?
I love a good blazer. They pull everything together and can take an outfit from plain to chic. I’m very into tailoring at the moment, and blazers were my first step into that realm.
What is your favourite place to travel?
I absolutely adore Tulum in Mexico. To me it has everything I’d look for in a holiday - warm climate, incredible food, breathtaking beaches, beautiful hotels, plenty of activities, excellent margaritas and it’s not too far away! I recently stayed at newly opened Casa Pueblo Boca Paila on the beach which was total heaven.
Which is your favourite gallery and why?
The V&A has to be my favourite gallery in London - I’m a huge fan of the Fashion exhibitions they put on. The Dior exhibition last year was just magical and I managed to go to a private viewing with just 100 people led by the Head of Exhibitions at Dior which made it even more special. The Fashion exhibitions they have at The Met in New York following the Met Gala are also incredible if you’re there over the summer.
What book do you always recommend to a friend?
In the last year my favourite book I read was probably Michelle Obama’s book, Becoming. It’s absolutely fascinating.
