HM Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022

‘It is with great sadness that I send the deepest condolences to the King and all the Royal Family on hearing the news of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s death.

She was an extraordinary example of constancy, dignity, duty and resilience that most of us have been lucky never to have lived without and will hugely miss. I was very privileged to have been able to spend time with her majesty at Balmoral and witness her formidable intelligence and knowledge as well as her wonderful sense of humour as she fixed you with her piercing blue eyes.

She had an extraordinary smile that lit up the room especially when talking of her love of her grandchildren, her highland ponies and our mutual love of the islands of the west coast of Scotland. May she rest in peace and hopefully be reunited with all the family, friends and animals that she loved and lost over her inspirational 96 years.’
