What is your favourite restaurant?
The River Cafe. I love the daily menu of seasonal food. Moreover, I find the story behind founders Ruth Rogers and Rose Grey who are self proclaimed soulmates truly inspiring.
What is your favourite art gallery and why?
The Royal Academy. The neo-classical architecture of Burlington House, the ever changing courtyard art installations, the size of the galleries which are large enough to host incredibility curated collections but small enough to be strictly edited and the Academician Room, which in my opinion, is the best kept secret in London.
Who is your favourite artist and why?
Gustav Klimt. I love the warm embrace of his subjects engulfed in a myriad of colour and pattern.
How do you achieve a good work/life balance?
My children. They provide the work/life balance and perspective I need.
What are your tips of what to wear to a big meeting?
I always wear a dress. It takes 5 seconds to put one on and Voila - you look the best version of you! The ultimate effortless chic.
Whats the best advice someone has given you?
“You are lucky to have choices. Make them!”
Where is your favourite place to travel to and why?
Our cabin in the woods in Mont Tremblant National Park Canada. It is where I grew up going to for the holidays.
What was your first job?
I had a summer job waitressing tables in Nantucket. I feel lucky to have experienced the life lessons learned from waiting on tables. One is the evidence of satisfaction is in repeat business and not tips.
Who would be at your dream dinner party?
It would definitely include my co-creators of Mrs and Mr Bateman Selena Beaudry and Clemmie Myers, the editor of World of Interiors Rupert Thomas, fashion designer Dries Van Noten, Michelle Obama and my best friend. But my eclectic family are always a go to for laughter and inspiration.
What is your favourite journey?
Working on being in the now.
Has a book/film changed your life?
I have given up on being cliche free. Mine was Star Wars. It blew my mind.
Which words or phrases do you overuse?
Just bin it!
